NYP CIO Daniel Barchi: How mobile helps us expand our reach

Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Daniel Barchi was interviewed by FierceHealthcare about the origins of NYP OnDemand and the NewYork-Presbyterian Innovation Center, the challenges addressed by NewYork-Presbyterian in implementing technology, and the future of mobile health at NewYork-Presbyterian. In discussing the advantages of NYP OnDemand, Mr. Barchi emphasized the program's scope: "NYP OnDemand will allow our providers to gain new patients, as well as see more of their current patients, while also reducing the number of steps a patient will need to take to receive NYP's care." He also addressed a common misconception about telehealth: "Some patients and providers still prefer in-person interactions; however, in-person consultations shouldn't be viewed as opposites--they work best together."
