Michael Gao, MD

Michael Gao, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Weill Cornell, LEAD Attending with NYP LEAD Academy, and Silverman Fellow for NYP Transformation. His focus is on integrating machine learning into clinical operations to improve the efficiency of care on both Weill Cornell and Columbia campuses. In addition, he helps design mobile applications for the Mobile Center of Excellence, and provides education on healthcare technology and transformation for residents and medical students.

Prior to joining NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell, Michael founded High Concept Designs, the Michigan Student-Run Free Clinic, and Findcare, a nonprofit web service connecting patients with low-cost healthcare. Additionally, he has several publications and national abstracts in biomathematics, genomics, and neuroscience.

Michael completed his B.S. in Neuroscience and B.S. in Molecular Genetics at the University of California Los Angeles, his M.D. at the University of Michigan, and his Internal Medicine internship and residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill-Cornell.
